Default Ideas for changing names

95% of my GW time is spent on my pve characters that Ive had forever and frankly im kinda tired of their names. I understand the issue of being able to change a name on a whim but what if we had maybe an event where we could change the look and name of a character once a month or two, or could accrue a certain amount of points that could be spent like XP

Any other ideas?

People need to just start putting some actual thought into the creation of their roleplaying characters. I've never deleted a roleplaying character I made; nor have I had any regrets about names nor appearance. Get it right the first time and you wont have a problem.

I put a bit of thought into it first and am personaly happy with the names I've given to my characters. However, that said, one thing I would like to see in regard to naming characters is an increase in length, from 19 chararcters (including spaces) upto say 30 (including spaces).

Never going to happen.

Devs have stated a number of times that name changing is simply not possible. It would require too much man power and time.

Thats just not true.

There is already a way to force name changes on people with vulgar names, and Gaile Gray has mentioned in a couple chats that name changes on a wider scale is something that may be added in the future.

QFT

I think Gaile even said they might offer the feature in the online store in the future. Though I could be wrong about that.

Devs say a lot of different things and make a lot of promises which may or may not ever come true.

I highly doubt A.net will ever add this, and if they do it will cost a lot.

/ouch. I'd rather they concentrate on the game monthly. than have extra problems(whines) arise from this on a monthly/bi-mo/etc. basis.

/nty.

/unsignage!

When they force you to "change" your name you don't really change it. You still see the original name on everything that's customized for you and the hero window and what not still display the original name. But the replacement name is displayed to others; such as in the party window or the chat log or the one that displays under your character. Atleast that's what someone that had to change their name told me. So there isn't already a system in place to actually change your name.

LOL

Yes, because there are so many rampant scammers that I have started a list of them, and boy I don't know what I would do if I couldn't recognize them. They might scam me again, since I just never learn! And boy, adding scammers to my friends list is just beyond weird, since everyone knows that the friends list goes by account name, and not character name, and that changing a characters name wouldn't prevent the newly named character from showing up. What was I even thinking to support this idea?
